Sugar Rush Studio began life way back in 2013 under the name Emily Bear, where I created quirky mini food jewellery that looked good enough to eat—with a special focus on baked goods and desserts. It was a joyful grassroots project, selling off of facebook, at local markets, and at a small retail and cafe space I operated at the time. The spark was lit much earlier, with a childhood love of play food and a collection of tiny, detailed, dollhouse miniatures. Life, as it often does, got in the way; and the original project was shelved for an extended hiatus. 

I've reinvigorated my passion project out of a desire to create art and magic in the small slice of the day I had to myself after the birth of my first child. Today, the original spark drives everything I make. My work is inspired by all things nostalgic, unusual, and wonderfully whimsical—bringing a little bit of joy (and a sprinkle of sugar!) into everyday life through my artwork, homewares and accessories.
